How to Use SAM: Your Assistant Across the BX Platform

SAM (Smart Agricultural Machine) is BX’s new farm intelligence assistant — designed to help you unlock the insights in your farm data. Whether you’re exploring performance, improving sustainability, or planning your next environmental move, SAM is here to guide you every step of the way.

Where to Find SAM

You’ll find SAM on your dashboard, and at the bottom of every page on the BX platform — just look for the footer labelled “Ask SAM”. Click to open the assistant whenever you need help, insights, or a nudge in the right direction.

What You Can Ask SAM

SAM is designed to help across the full scope of your farm intelligence and sustainability efforts. Here’s how to make the most of it:

Get Direction When You’re Not Sure Where to Start

SAM understands your intent and guides you to the feature — whether you’re analysing emissions, comparing field performance, or planning future changes.

Help With Data Collection and Uploads

Stuck trying to get data into the platform? SAM can walk you through what’s needed, help fix common issues, and explain what’s missing to complete your analysis.

See Insights as You Work

SAM shows you key trends in your data — such as underperforming fields, changes in yield, or emissions hotspots — without needing to dig through dashboards.

Support Through Key Projects

Whether you’re completing a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) or exploring practice changes like cover cropping, SAM is there to assist, explain, and suggest as you go.

Just Ask

No jargon needed — ask SAM things like:

  • “Which field had the best yield this year?”
  • “Am I using more fertiliser than last season?”
  • “What’s my carbon footprint?”
  • “Can I earn carbon credits?”

A Note About SAM’s Development

⚠️ Please note: SAM is still in training. It’s already powerful, but you might encounter the occasional limitation as we continue to improve it based on real feedback from users like you.

Also, if you’re currently working on a PCF, that data won’t yet be reflected in SAM’s responses — but it’s coming soon.
